Female Led Relationship India

Review of ‘A Woman’s guide to Female Led Relationships’ by Victoria West

Introduction

This book is not for beginners. Though the 64 page long book is intended to educate about Female Led Relationships to newbies, it deviates in the middle but gets back on track later on. The book’s tone is educational and begins with the author’s personal story, followed by her transition to FLR and then her personal experience in a Female Led Relationship.

Summary of the Book

The book contains the author’s history, basics about Female Led Relationships, definition of a few terminologies, qualities of Doms and subs, a few ideas and some reality checks.

Theme

It is a non-fiction book targeted at educating the audience

Strengths

The book, at various points, has reality checks of what an FLR is and what is it not.

The author is experienced and tries to draw a comparison between fantasy and reality.

The author also tries to fight the common notions that have been instilled in our brains about traditional gender roles.

The language of the book is easy.

Critique/Weaknesses

There are grammatical and spelling errors.

The book is not at all for beginners. In many instances, the author does not define FLR jargon such as chastity cage.

The author generalizes many concepts based on her own experiences. Also, the section where she defines “Common traits” for Dominant and submissives, it might not be applicable for everyone and she should highlight that.

She mentions in the beginning that this book is for women who are tired, frustrated, taken for granted or unsatisfied sexually etc, which might drive away the interest since FLR is not a solution for all these problems.

The biggest con is that the author does not dive into the psychology behind FLR dynamics. This is the biggest question that women have when their man expresses his submissive desires.

Personal Reflection

The book has both – good and not-so-good content.

A layman might not be able to differentiate between both. I could see the pure intention behind the author’s words but personally did not get much value out of this book.

I was turned off by the not-so-well-written erotic sections in the second half of the book.

Conclusion

FLR enthusiasts can read this book as it does have a few good insights. Given the short length of the book, it would not take much time to skim through.

If you have intermediate knowledge about FLR, you can give it a read.

Rating

I would rate this book 2.5/5.
